1st June 2022 - A Walk to Shell Beaches

Published 7th June 2022

I was lucky enough to get back to Tarbert on Loch Fyne last week. While there we took a walk along the Pier Road and over to the Shell Beaches.

The Shell Beaches got there name from the pieces of shells which the tide washed up and packed tightly between the rocks. The fishing boats used to discard the shells in the loch from where they were washed up on the shore. As the fishing has declined and practices changed there are less shells today, but always worth a visit.

The weather was spectacular and the flowers were radiant in the sun.
